Japanese people were always faced with great challenges through out their history. Being it their Never settling Geographical landscape issues, World wars and other calamities. Every time they fall, they got up on their feet and moved on with more fighting spirit.
Man always had to fight against the challenging environmental conditions from the ancient days. Human beings survived all the ordeals and developed new skill sets, New machinaries, new shelters etc to survive. Every setback was a lesson. Every disastor was a stepping stone.
In that context, Tsunami in Japan calls for a global overhaul of safety measures we have. Hereafter I do believe Tsunami and thery by any such Unpredicted Disastors will be considered as a risk factor with more severence. Civil defences around the world have develop policies to prevent damages from such natural calamities and develop disastor management systems.
"Kudos" to the Alarm management systems in Japan which enabled the official to evacuate the place and thus was able to keep the Human lives safe.
And there will be coherence to build more safety measures against the Tsunami to counter its global impacts. May be more strict rules in Sea shore based Construction and other developments to reduce the damages.
As an End note, It is another "Start from the scratch" phase for japanese people. Let them overcome the shock and grief of loosing their dear ones. Let them support each other and start the fight back to a new future.
